It is a ministerial requirement for PhD students to "gain experience of teaching activities or another form of knowledge dissemination which is related to the student's PhD project" (Part 3, Section 7 of the Ministerial Order on the PhD Degree Programme).

This is a requirement for all PhD students at GSST:

     A. Enrolled and employed with teaching obligations,

     B. Enrolled and employed without teaching obligations, and

     C. Enrolled, but NOT employed.

If you are in category A, you typically fulfill the dissemination requirement through your teaching.

If you are in category B or C, other types of dissemination activities must be added to your PhD plan. Examples can be seen in our Rules and Regulations (section 6.1.7).

To encourage you to consider this requirement early in your study programme, we have added a checkbox to the Registration Form for the qualifying exam. By checking this box, you will confirm that you have registered dissemination activities in your PhD plan or at least outlined your plans to fulfill the requirement. Please also discuss your dissemination plans with your supervisor.

Remember, the information you list in your PhD plan will ultimately be a part of your PhD diploma, so take care to fill in all necessary details.

If you have any questions in this matter, please contact your PhD Partner.
