Objectives of the course:

The annual Biophysics PhD Meeting in Holbæk provides a unique opportunity to present your PhD project and get feedback from fellow PhD student. The theme of this year is startup companies, so besides academic lectures and student presentations there will be some on-topic seminars by invited speakers.


Learning outcomes and competences:

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

- Improve their presentation skills and get constructive questions from fellow PhD student with similar interests.

- Network with PhD students and senior academics from multiple universities across Denmark.

- Get an idea of how to start up a new company and potential obstacles in this regard.


Compulsory program:

To receive the 2 ECTS point the students must fulfill the following requirements:

- Attend the programmed from 11 June until 13 June 2018.

- Prepare and give a 10 min scientific speech regarding their PhD project.


Course contents:

Student presentations, academic lectures, on-topic seminars and smaller group work sessions.

Special comments on this course:

The PhD meeting involves two sleepovers at Søminestationen, Holbæk, Denmark, so bring changing clothes, bed sheet and a sleeping bag.

The students are responsible for the transportation to the meeting, but can be picked up at the train station in Holbæk.
